Ganesh Puja Kits: What to Check Before Buying

✓ Editorially reviewed · 23 August 2026

A useful kit should cover the basics

Check the exact contents rather than relying on “complete” or “sampoorna” in the product name.

  • Haldi, kumkum, chandan and akshata
  • Diya, cotton wicks, dhoop or incense
  • Kalawa, supari and common dry samagri
  • A clear item list with quantities

Items usually better bought fresh

Flowers, durva, leaves, fruit, coconut, modak and prepared naivedya are often excluded, substituted or unsuitable after shipping. Confirm these separately.

Before paying

Compare the list with your priest’s requirements, check the use-by date and ingredient labels, avoid unnecessary plastic sachets, and confirm whether the murti is included. The cheapest kit is poor value if you must replace half of it.
